Our Bioscience Research Division works on innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers in sectors, such as the agricultural sector or food industry. What you can expect

In addition to research on new products, the focus of our unit Biocatalysis is searching for new and optimization of established chemical as well as biotechnological processes for a wide range of applications.

  • You will be responsible for the technical management of a laboratory team and develop biotechnological syntheses over several stages, from laboratory to production scale.

  • Moreover, you will initiate and develop new biotechnological routes, from enzyme screening to strain design.

  • In addition, you will work with interdisciplinary and international project teams or lead them if necessary.

  • You will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating scientific trends, competitive activities as well as establishing and expanding contacts with operational units and scientific partners.

  • Furthermore, you will work closely with colleagues from R&D, production, marketing and cooperate with universities as well as external research institutions within the framework of your projects.

What we expect

  • strong personal initiative, entrepreneurship, high innovation orientation, empathy and love for working in interdisciplinary teams

  • doctorate in biosciences preferably industrial biotechnology e.g. biological chemistry, chemical biology or molecular sciences, with superior grades

  • expertise in enzyme discovery and engineering, fermentation and downstream processing or scale-up of bioprocesses is a plus

  • first professional experiences in the field of industrial biotechnology is advantageous

  • good command of English as well as German and experience working in international teams
