The Process Research and Chemical Engineering Research Division brings together a variety of competencies, including inorganic chemistry, organic synthesis, battery materials research, catalysis, process development and technology, as well as technical services for laboratories/technical centers. In interdisciplinary global teams, we develop innovative products, processes and technologies for a sustainable future and work with internal and external customers.

What you can expect

In our research department Process Research and Chemical Engineering you will develop new catalytic materials and technologies and optimize existing heterogeneous catalysts for industrial scale processes.

  • You will be responsible for the technical management of your laboratory team and supervise the synthesis of new catalysts, the construction as well as operation of state-of-the-art testing facilities and the evaluation of experimental results.

  • In order to establish new catalytic processes in production, you will drive the entire scale-up process for new catalysts in cooperation with process engineers and specialists from the relevant specialist units.

  • In the course of your work you will develop your entrepreneurial and personal skills.

What we expect

  • above-average PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering

  • several years of professional experience and therefore very familiar with the processes in research and development laboratories

  • knowledge of technical chemistry and profound understanding of heterogeneous catalysis

  • familiarity with standard chemical software applications

  • fluent in German and English

  • strong communication skills and ability to develop innovative solutions in a team
