What you can expect
Our Design Machinery Team is responsible for project planning as well as handling of machines and units, within the global plant engineering organization of BASF SE. The focus is on the entire value chain, from advanced planning to commissioning of plant and equipment components.
In your role, you will assume responsibility for the conceptualization, planning, specification, procurement, execution, assembly, installation, commissioning and support of compressor and/or turbine units.
As part of these duties, you will work closely with mainenance, process engineering and plant operations teams to ensure that all engineered machines are in accordance with all relevant rules and regulations.
In addition, you will ensure quality assurance and expediting at the manufacturer's end as well as secure the necessary documentation and ensure that any warranty claims are processed.
Using maintenance experience, you will develop preferred standards as well as design and construction principles.
Furthermore, you will ensure that the necessary subject-specific knowledge skills as well as production technologies are secured further development and evolution.
What we expect
degree in mechanical engineering and knowledge as well as skills relating to the area of thermal turbomachinery (gas and steam turbines, displacers and turbo compressors and their auxiliary systems)
several years of experience in the layout as well as rough calculation of machines and their components
alternatively, experience in the engineering of turbines and compressors (concept development, specification, analysis of offers, planning principles) or in the maintenance and/or commissioning of turbine
familiarity with machine controls and machine protection equipment as well as solid knowledge relating to the EU regulations and the implementation thereof
German language skills and proficiently in English
