The Global Engineering Services Division is responsible for the implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the various corporate divisions by providing expert services throughout the plant's life cycle, such as automation, process or mechanical engineering. We push forward innovations in all areas of the chemical industry - and turn laboratory developments into worldwide production plants.

What you can expect

Our unit is responsible for the Construction Management of Large Capital Projects in the Europe region.

  • You will assume the role of "Lead Turnover Management and Commissioning Support" in the project, in which you will support the Construction Manager in the planning as well as handover of the plant to the operator (turnover).

  • Furthermore, you will work at the interface between operator/commissioning teams, planning units of plant construction and installation. You will also support the further development and optimization of these interfaces and the adaptation of the workflow.

  • You will actively participate in erection inspections, progress tracking, adherence to schedule activities and provision of internal as well as external resources for turnover and commissioning support.

  • Besides that, you will be responsible for the project documentation and coordination of the handover (turnover) to the operator and perform this task by using an appropriate "Completions Management Tool".

  • In addition, you will help drive digitalization measures in plant construction and not only develop concepts in this regard but can also contribute directly to optimizing the interface with the operator by implementing these concepts.

What we expect

  • degree in engineering and experience in the assembly environment as well as ideally prior knowledge in the turnover area

  • alternatively, doctorate in engineering or external long-term professional experience in international plant construction of chemical plants or their commissioning

  • knowledge of typical planning documents of plant construction

  • good knowledge of German as well as English in order to identify customer needs and to advise them in the best possible way

  • experience in handling projects on schedule and within budget

  • interest in working with new IT tools and personal development
