What you can expect

Within our scouting team you will drive new business opportunities according to the objectives of lean startup principles in a corporate environment. Your initial focus will be on emerging food applications with new proteins from precision fermentation. Other topics may arise in due course of executing the job as Senior Scouting Manager.

  • In compliance with our goals and boundaries you will manage new business development projects from scouting to new business build-ups.

  • Target market segments will be predominantly dairy food applications.

  • You will identify and pursue unmet market needs and match them with technical solutions from internal and external partners targeting scalable new business opportunities.

  • Furthermore, you will test the optional business models in short learning loops in the markets and sharpen the overall business vision.

  • With the aim of developing new opportunities adjacent to BASF's core business you will scope and align our initiatives with the operating divisions and decision boards.

  • Based on mutual respect and inclusion, you will attract the required talents and partners for the project execution and build as well as use alliances for the identification of new trends.

What we expect

  • degree in food chemistry, biochemical engineering or related engineering sciences

  • professional experience in marketing, sales and new business development in the food industry

  • first experiences in food registration processes and food production requirements

  • structural working methods and a pronounced can-do mentality with an elevated level of creativity

  • enjoy to unfold entrepreneurial drive in cooperate startup structures and ability to motivate and guide people to success

  • fluent English skills to argue conclusively in international settings
