In the Coatings Division, we are focused on the development, production and marketing of a variety of coating solutions -from applied surface technologies to automotive paints. It is aimed at the development of newmarkets and business models.

What you can expect

Our Color Science and Technology unit is the competence center for colorimetry within BASF. We develop processes and software to calculate color formulas and support the quality control of coatings.

  • As software developer, you will support our globally active coatings technology research unit in the development and optimization of software programs using agile methods (SCRUM).

  • You will further develop an existing software for process control in the production of coatings.

  • To do this, you determine the users' requirements and convert them into a user-friendly interface.

  • Your job profile is rounded off by working on cross-team projects.

  • The vacancy is initially limited for two years.

What we expect

  • Strong affinity for software development

  • Practical or project experience in the development of software and web apps, preferably using HTML, CSS and Angular.

  • Good knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript and/or C++ as well as basic knowledge of current technologies such as RESTful-, Web- and Microservices and databases

  • Basic knowledge of German and business fluent English

  • University degree in natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, computer science or at least a very good education in computer science
