Maintenance Tech- Mauldin, South Carolina Site.

Formula for Success: You Will…

Perform duties to install, maintain and repair equipment at the BASF - Mauldin, South Carolina Plant . Tasks include complex process equipment installation, maintenance troubleshooting and repairs utilizing advanced skills in PLC, pipefitting, structural steel, pneumatic, hydraulic, rigging, welding and other millwright work on rotating and fixed equipment such as process machinery, tanks/pumps/agitators, and general building & grounds maintenance. Basic I&E understanding is required.

Responsibility and accountability includes, but is not limited to:

  • Maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial mechanical rotating equipment (pumps, mixers, compressors) in a chemical plant or related field is required

  • Utilizing tools, equipment, materials, methods, procedures, standards, and practices to repair, maintain, construct, and install stationary equipment such as piping, valves, structures

  • Knowledge/Skills

  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools

  • Ability to operate mobile equipment - fork truck, aerial lifts, etc.

  • Basic operation and repair methods for both centrifugal and positive displacement pumps

  • Piping installation practices

  • Basic operation and repair methods for ball and gate valves

  • Ability to weld carbon steel and stainless steel is preferred

  • Ability to comprehend P&ID, Schematics and Blue Prints is preferred ISO’s is a plus

  • Boiler operation knowledge is preferred

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting is preferred

  • Familiarity with engineering codes and standards preferred.

  • The individual will be very safety conscious when working with and around chemicals,

  • The individual must show initiative, have excellent attention to detail, be results oriented and customer focused

  • The individual must possess good communication skills and possess the ability to work in a team environment.

  • The individual must possess the willingness and ability to work outside in various weather conditions.

  • The individual must also be able to prioritize tasks and be self-motivated.

  • The individual must also have basic computer skills and a willingness and ability to learn computer systems in use by BASF (SAP knowledge is a plus)

  • Candidates must demonstrate the following competencies: Safely and efficiently maintains, trouble-shoots, repairs, and installs plant stationary and rotating equipment for all areas of the plant in an effort to improve reliability and minimize production downtime.Supports instrument and electrical oriented tasks when required.Works with direction from supervision as necessary to perform highly accurate work.   • Maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial mechanical rotating equipment (pumps, mixers, compressors) in a chemical plant or related field is require.
