We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for overall management and coordination of Environmental compliance at the Site level. In this role, you will ensure adherence to environmental laws, regulations and BASF Corporation requirements for the McIntosh, Alabama site. The McIntosh site is strategically significant for the Performance Chemicals (EV) Business in North America. The site employs approximately 600 people including contractors to produce antioxidants and light stabilizers going into markets such as automotive, coatings, plastics, and food packaging. This position also interacts with EHS experts and professionals who support all of BASF’s North American sites and businesses.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your ability to effectively interact with corporate and site leadership, elected officials and regulatory agencies. You will also get to share your skills in detail orientation, organization, effective communication, coaching, strategic thinking, entrepreneurship, customer focus, innovation and collaboration. Although not required, any experience you may have with Title V permitting and other EPA program areas, NPDES, RCRA, PSD, NSPS, MACT, LDAR, RMP, SARA and CERCLA/EPCRA, and/or experience working in the State of Alabama is advantageous.

Your unwavering commitment to compliance will be evident as you provide technical and regulatory expertise to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and continuous improvements of EHS programs.
Leveraging your education in Engineering or Science and your experience as an EHS professional or in a manufacturing role with EHS responsibilities, you will provide strategic direction to site leadership on environmental issues and opportunities.
Utilizing your solid analytical and computer skills, you will ensure all internal and external reporting requirements are met. You will also recommend efficiency improvements to the data generation and reporting process in partnership with operations to optimize available systems and technology.
Successfully engaging within the organization, you will lead and/or participate on EHS work teams or task forces and work with other EHS experts in the organization on the development of company-wide processes and initiatives to ensure continuous EHS improvement.
As a subject matter expert on environmental, health and safety topics, you will provide training content, and where appropriate, deliver training or coaching. You will also use your expertise to facilitate the sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and successfully demonstrated practices across the BASF EHS organization.
Demonstrating your strong knowledge of environmental regulations as they apply to manufacturing environments, you will support the interface with regulatory agencies and third parties, as needed, on compliance and enforcement issues.
Your experience with environmental, health and safety management systems will be a valued asset as you support implementation of Responsible Care® Management System.
