Where the Chemistry Happens…
In this role, you will provide electrical engineering expertise to the Engineering Department at the McIntosh Site. You will assure the proper design, purchase, and installation of electrical equipment according to regulatory and BASF standards. Areas of responsibility include executing capital projects for the site in the electrical discipline, as well as providing technical expertise to operations and maintenance as required.

Formula for Success: You Will…
Provide electrical design for small-to medium-sized capital projects
Serve as a resource or Electrical Lead for Engineering Partners on large projects.
Direct staff and third-party Electrical Designers at the site.
Develop electrical scopes, schedules, and estimates for projects to meet business objectives.
Field verify and review electrical capabilities of existing systems for design activities on projects.
Produce engineering calculations required to support work.
Specify electrical equipment and materials while acquiring consensus with area Maintenance personnel.
Obtain vendor quotes and provide technical support during procurement process on electrical bid packages.
Provide quality checks on all electrical design packages and perform cross-checks between design disciplines.
Inspect equipment at off-site locations when required, including factory acceptance tests.
Evaluate contractor bid proposals.
Supervise and support construction activities.
Responsible for check-out, commissioning, and start-up support on capital projects.
Support Operations and Maintenance Groups as a technical resource for electrical infrastructure.
Provide design and troubleshooting associated with the site’s 12-kV electrical distribution system.
Interface with Procurement on Alliance contracts that are coordinated with area Maintenance and Operations personnel.
Lead site Standards Teams in areas including electrical classification.
Participate on teams to review processes, procedures, and standards and submit requests for updates.
Ensure compliance with codes and regulations and that designs conform to applicable corporate, plant, and engineering policies and procedures.
Support to the Central Gulf Regional Service Center as required.
Utilize BASF computer resources (e.g., SAP) to execute work processes.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
At least 5 years of experience working in Engineering and/or Maintenance groups within an industrial environment (preferably a chemical plant).
Possess strong organizational skills in the areas of resource planning and task management.
