Where the Chemistry Happens:
This position is responsible for making batches of liquid materials.
Formula for Success:
Receive batch sheets from Foremen
Read manufacturing controls for all special instructions, special details, safety equipment, raw materials needed, and amounts of materials needed
Make sure all kettles and pipelines to kettles are clean and not leaking. Make sure the kettle main valve is closed before starting
Name the product being manufactured in order to look for wash water, remix, or inprocess material and give to production HiLo driver
Make out list of raw materials and amounts needed and give to production HiLo driver
Pump bulk raw materials accurately and in order
Weigh all drum raw materials and pour exact amounts into proper kettle. Record raw material amounts on batchmaker sheet and provide raw material dates or Lot Numbers
Mix all products according to mix times on sheet
Take sample to Lab as soon as mix time is reached
Upon Lab approval, you then add any remix or inprocess material that has been Lab checked and tagged as “Okay”
Re-sample product for final Lab approval after remix or inprocess has been added
After Lab gives final approval shut mixer off and close lid on kettle
Perform any miscellaneous duties such as receiving bulk raw materials and other duties assigned by Foreman
Make sure all empty containers from your shift or your usage are removed from your area before end of shift
Keep your area clean at all times
Ingredients for Success:
Job requires the ability to manually handle drummed materials including hazardous materials which weigh 350 to 550 pounds each
Job requires considerable lifting, bending, standing, twisting and stooping
