Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Commercial Operations Manager will provide commercial leadership for Canadian Crop in steering the business to monthly sales goals & targets, reviewing and approving monthly sales forecasts and preparing/presenting commentary at the Monthly Business Review meetings.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Engage with Customer Solutions, Marketing and Finance Teams in evaluating and developing new program incentive offers supporting the Canadian Crop strategy and driving towards an enhanced customer experience.

  • Set and manage monthly sales goal for the accounts team, reviewing and approving monthly sales forecasts and preparing/presenting commentary at the Monthly Business Review meetings.

  • Manage financial exposure of program incentives against accruals from a budget, forecast, and actual perspective (working with the Customer Rewards & Finance teams)

  • Manage in-season programming exceptions and amendments.

  • Coordinate with and represent the accounts team in internal operational forecasting, invoicing and payment terms discussions.

  • Support marketing and leadership teams with ad-hoc analysis on topics including pricing, ROI and NPV analysis, working capital implications, etc.

  • Lead customer roadmap initiative at key customers in addition to financial modelling exercises to evaluate sales trajectories and financial exposures under different strategic, market & business scenarios

  • Lead Business Excellence project across Canadian Crop business working with different functional areas – looking for ongoing opportunities to improve margin, working capital and accounts receivables

  • Interact closely with all sales and marketing teams in supporting key commercial operational topics for Canadian Crop.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelors degree in business, finance or related field. MBA is preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years business experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience across marketing and/or finance roles

  • Experience across industries with agricultural industry preferred

  • Strong business & financial acumen – experience working with P&L and complex financial metrics and analysis

  • Experience working with senior leadership (i.e. presentations to senior leadership, business plans, influencing and challenging)

  • Experience interacting and working closely with Sales / Marketing personnel and Customers under a range of situations

  • Strong Computer Skills, especially Excel, Tableau, MS Access and / or other similar data visualization and coding software
