Senior Product Steward & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA)Specialist (2202797) – Virtual

Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Senior Product Steward & Regulatory Affairs Specialist will have direct responsibility for leading the Product Stewardship programs for the CP and 3D Printing Systems(3DPS) businesses in North America. This role is responsible for strategically identifying emerging Product Stewardship/Regulatory issues and opportunities, assessing product and market risks, proactively developing risk management measures and product strategies for the assigned portfolio and business segments, and providing Product Stewardship/Regulatory support for customers. In addition, this position will provide oversight on various Responsible Care related programs to ensure BASF meets its Product related Responsible Care obligations. This includes the design and execution of applicable training programs to support their business and customers. The position will interface with Business Unit Leadership, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, R&D, Technical, EHS and Legal in the region as well as with global counterparts internally, and externally with customers, trade associations, research organizations and/or regulators. Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs is part of the Global Business Services division in North America.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Strategically identify emerging Product Stewardship/Regulatory issues and opportunities, assess product and market risks, and proactively develops risk management measures and product strategies for assigned portfolio and business segments.

  • Provides strategic direction on EHS product-related issues and opportunities to senior business leadership on a routine basis and more formally though the Strategic EHS Forecast documentation under the BASF Responsible Care Management System®.

  • Applies expertise and regulatory knowledge to support the assessment of the sustainability profile of products and promote sustainable business opportunities.

  • Engage in Phasegate/Product Development process as necessary to assure regulatory and stewardship issues are considered and to promote sustainable products.

  • Demonstratable ability to learn and work in a dynamic work environment where roles and department boundaries are fluid and specific to the support needs of the business.

  • Participate on industry trade association committees relevant to the business needs

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • BS degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Industrial Health, Toxicology) or Engineering required (other BS degrees may be considered if candidate has significant relevant experience)

  • Advanced professional degree (MS, MBA, MPH) and/or relevant professional certification (CIH, CPPS, etc) desired.

  • Minimum 10 yrs of Product Stewardship, Regulatory, EHS or related business/commercial/marketing experience

  • Customer focus

  • Knowledge of regional EHS/Product regulations and/or knowledge of business unit product portfolios, markets and industries. Global regulation knowledge (REACh, etc.) a plus.

  • Strong SAP data management skills desired.

  • Must communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization with the ability to translate regulatory/technical information clearly and concisely to business leadership and the ability to represent BASF externally with integrity and professionalism

  • Experience developing and managing projects as well as analyzing and solving problems.

  • Strong skills related to leadership, teamwork, interpersonal relations, work management and results-orientation

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and within a virtual and matrix organization
