Maintenance Manager- Monaca, PA
ED is an exciting business environment with a complex set of growing businesses, multiple commercial stakeholders, many customers, and regular introduction of new products into the Monaca site. With Construction as a primary industry, there is a high swing in demand during prime season. Short lead times and a significant number of new product introductions and recipe changes requires the capability to be flexible, adaptability to change, and strong leadership and communication.
The position receives broad managerial guidance from the TES Manager. The incumbent must be able to operate independently making timely and appropriate decisions that supports the safety and reliable production and delivery of product.
Monaca is regulated by OSHA PSM standard which is indicative of a high hazard site. The hazardous nature of many of the raw materials, including undesirable reactions, requires technical knowledge of processes and solid understanding of process safety protocols.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Provide technical leadership to ensure occupational safety, code compliant repairs, workmanship quality, and workforce skills development.
Responsible for the efficient and cost-effective execution of maintenance and production support services, in accordance with industry best-in-class maintenance processes to ensure effective asset reliability.
Continuous improvement of maintenance processes, optimized costs, and equipment uptime availability represent areas of focus. Safety, environmental stewardship, and employee training and development are priorities.
Direct management responsibility and oversight of the maintenance department including, but not limited to Planners, Schedulers, Technicians, Contractors, and the Storeroom. Responsible for the overall work management process.
Utilize effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs and tools (i.e. lubrication, thermography, vibration analysis, etc.), to implement effective programs to drive overall asset reliability at the site.
Provide to leadership the Maintenance Engineer, Controls Engineers, Storeroom Specialist, Planner and Craftsmen.
Set department goals and objectives aligned with site targets , monitor performance against those objectives and coach / manage employee performance.
Evaluate alternatives for equipment repair.
Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
BS Degree in an Engineering discipline and 10+ years of manufacturing, maintenance, and/or reliability experience, or equivalent.
A minimum 5+ years of experience leading teams is required.
Familiar with SAP, MS Office, AutoCAD, other CMMS and BASF web-based applications a plus.
Experience with PSM program and requirements preferred.
In-depth knowledge of maintenance work processes such as planning, scheduling, and material management, knowledge of vessels, machinery, and instrumentation, and knowledge in the areas of rotating and stationary equipment, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge with continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to communicate effectively with facts and figures along with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate. Strong interpersonal skills are required in this position.
Work collaboratively with diverse multiple stakeholders, including Production, Process Engineering, Procurement, Stores, Accounting, Technology Managers, Project Managers, Site Leadership Team, Manufacturing Support Services, etc.
Ability to influence, motivate, and coach personnel and teams in a professional leadership role.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
Effective technical writing and business communication skills.
