We are seeking a professional like you to join our team as a Scientist at our Morrisville, NC facility.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Be responsible for sourcing novel traits that address key agricultural needs from bacteria, fungi, and other unique gene sources by leveraging biochemical, microbial and molecular biology methods

  • Be part of a team developing innovative and competitive assays, methods, procedures, and technologies that accelerate discovery approaches.

  • be responsible for communication of progress with stakeholders

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biological sciences with 5 years’ relevant biotechnology experience in academic or industrial laboratory environment or a PhD in related field;

  • Knowledge in biochemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology methods

  • Knowhow in native protein purification and characterization strategies;

  • Experience in protein characterization using Mass Spectroscopy;

  • Hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting HPLC, LC-MS/MS, FPLC

  • Hands-on experience with protein extraction and purification techniques, ie ion exchange, gel filtration

  • Hands-on experience with protein analysis and quantification methods

  • Hands-on experience in vector design and recombinant expression

  • Knowledge in assay development and design

  • Strong technical problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Experience in data management and reporting (written and oral presentation)

  • Ensure compliance with all existing safety and stewardship standards in the area of responsibility, taking into account laws, regulations and directives, and evaluate potential risks of the research activities.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills;

  • Proficient Computer skills: MS Office, other scientific programs as needed.
