What You'll Be Doing - We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Lead to support Pigment Operations. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, stable production through the implementation of Lean, 6 Sigma and Toyota Production System (TPS) principles, tools, and techniques.

  • Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner. Support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care®, and OSHA regulations by protecting the environment, health, safety and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers and neighbors.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities using Lean/6 Sigma/TPS methodologies: Standard work, 6S/Visual Management, Poka-Yoke, Total Productive Maintenance, PDCA Problem solving, etc.

  • Conduct thorough investigations for all External and Internal Non-Conformances related to the area of responsibility and assist in the development and implementation of effective corrective actions.

  • Work with Area Group Leader to establish output target conditions, integrate them into a Visual Controls and identify and eliminate equipment losses associated with downtime, inefficacies and defects to achieve and improve total output.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives through monitoring and evaluation of data from a variety of sources, including area Non-conformances, Cost of poor quality, output performance vs. target conditions, operator suggestions, etc.

  • Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) as appropriate for changes to documents, equipment or processes that result from Continuous Improvement driven activities.

  • Establish product related cycle times/ throughputs by asset and integrate them into production plans and the area Visual Controls.

  • Provide input and support as needed to Capital Projects, Pre-start up safety reviews, Process Hazard Analysis, and other site initiatives.

  • Ensure Environmental regulatory compliance through development and implementation of training and standard work around compliance at the operator, working crew leader and contact supervisor levels.

  • Develop and coordinate updating of standard work procedures with Area Leader, working crew leaders, and operators.

  • Comply with the requirements of the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Shine With Colors & Effects! Do You Have What It Takes?


  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus experience in a chemical plant environment.

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel in a matrix global organization.

  • Well versed in problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis, and be able to train others.

  • A passion for continuous improvement and eliminating obstacles to productivity daily.

  • Ability to effectively measure and analyze trends with a focus on continuous improvement.


  • BS/BA with 2 or more years of experience in a chemical plant environment.

  • Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing training and Certification.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize continuous improvement tools and methodologies to drive sustainable improvements. This includes a good understanding of 6S, visual management, target conditions, standard work and other TPS tools.

  • Experience implementing TPS principles.

Bonus Points

  • Do you have experience as a Production Supervisor / Production Engineer? That is a plus!

  • SAP experience will be helpful.
