What You'll Be Doing - We are seeking a safety professional to support the Newport manufacturing site to develop, monitor and implement applicable BASF and regulatory agency safety requirements.
Develop and implement short and long-term goals to drive EHS excellence
Leads by example and inspire caring culture
Maintain and improve high level of corporate and regulatory compliance
Manage regulatory reports, internal and external incident reporting, drive completion of incident/near miss investigations, evaluate root causes of injuries, and develop safety improvements to prevent injuries and accidents.
Utilize analytical skills to interpret data, communicate key trends, develop and implement continuous safety improvement plans.
Accountable to maintain and verify safety systems effectiveness.
Active involvement Responsible Care and EHS review of projects
Responsible for enhancing and coordinating training program
Lead the Process Safety team and participate in our Process Hazard Analysis
Coach and mentor employees to develop and facilitate strong EHS behaviors.

Shine with Colors & Effects! Do You Have What It Takes?
B.S. Degree in a technical discipline along with a minimum of 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong skills related to leadership, teamwork, interpersonal relations/ communications, customer focus, influencing/impact, work management, and results-oriented.
Experience in Occupational Safety, Process Safety, Ergonomics, and Industrial Hygiene.
Must be able to work independently, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and serve as a member or interface with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to lead cross functional teams, problem solve and prioritize to meet deadlines.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) accreditation or the ability to obtain a CSP accreditation within 1 year.
Environmental knowledge and experience.
Emergency Response Planning.
Experience in the Chemical industry.
Experience with SAP.
