Job Description - We are seeking a professional like you to support day-to-day supply stream procurement activities for the assigned category mix and to support the implementation of category strategies. In the position of Regional Category Buyer within our G-EDP/GS Global Procurement unit at BASF Colors & Effects, you will provide regional input related to supply and demand market dynamics for the development of the category strategy. You will also routinely engage with the associated plants and suppliers in an effort to align supplier capabilities with BASF strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions for new and existing raw materials.
Development and implementation of procurement strategies andprocurement processes including all connected activities.
In alignment with internal partners such as, Production andSupply-Chain, Research and development, Safety and Regulatory, you willanalyze the procurement risks and opportunities, you will implementcontracts and specification agreements and secure a stable, reliable andprofitable supply chain over the long term.
You will manage the supplier qualification and evaluationactivities, you will also drive the consequent improvement activities.
Using your negotiation and analytical skills, you will steernegotiations with suppliers and be accountable for awarding andimplementing contracts
You will be responsible for developing your product / supplierportfolio, reduce single source cases and generate savings.
As a subject matter expert, you will lead and manage sourcingprocess (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key strategic contracts to ensure themost competitive supply advantage for BASF.
You will guarantee a systematic and regular follow-up of runningprojects and subsequent reporting.
You will regularly report your results to upper management.
Your strong communication skills will be a valued asset as youconduct market intelligence research by interacting with key suppliers,industry associations, and internal stakeholders to collectindustry-relevant information to assess current and future impact to BASF.In addition, you will support purchase order creation and processing asneeded.

B.S. in business, supply chain, or related field.
A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in procurement, sales, or business management.
Experience in manufacturing, technical or engineering functions in manufacturing environments.
Strong analytical skills, negotiation experience, and good technical understanding.
Entrepreneurial drive, have a commercial approach with strategic mindset, collaborate for achievement and strong communication skills.
