Job Purpose –
The Contact Supervisor, Synthesis role is a key leadership position at the Newport site. The position is responsible for the safety, productivity, and development of their direct reports while ensuring their shift is executing the elements of the Toyota Production System every day in line with the expectations of the Area TPS Leaders and the Site Production Manager.

High school diploma or equivalent
Six Sigma/Lean training/certification a plus
Minimum 8 years of experience in chemical plant environment
Minimum 8 years of experience in ISO certified manufacturing plant
Personnel leadership/management experience preferred
Certification as an Incident Commander a plus
Working knowledge of pigment synthesis operations preferred
Capabilities to supervise and develop direct reports.
Ability to direct and motivate exempt and non-exempt associates.
Computer skills – ability to learn/work with MS Office, OSI PI process data collection software, and plant distributed control software
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills are required.
Ability to learn/apply trouble shooting skills in a complex manufacturing environment
Well-developed and practical knowledge of occupational and process safety requirements (LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, PPE, etc.)
Ability to utilize continuous improvement tools and methodologies to drive sustainable improvements.
Passion for quality, continuous improvement and meeting customer needs
