RESPONSIBILITIES

Our unit Custom Catalysts 3rd party offers flexible development arrangements and toll manufacturing of catalysts.

  • In your new role, you manage and grow customer interactions with special focus on precious metal (PM) catalysts in the areas ofcustom business model and market catalysts sales.

  • You provide sales forecasts as well as negotiate and closecontracts with price authority above business management /marketing defined limit prices (customer advocate & face ofBASF).

  • Furthermore, you lead and coordinate new projects whichincludes the initial contact, technical optimization and scale-up, upto commercial and legal negotiations and the closing of profitabledeals.

  • You identify and specify customer needs as well as new leadsthrough customer interaction and coordinate lead qualification.

  • Additionally, you coordinate the process of turning leads inopportunities, put together the business case for solutionscenarios and present solutions to the customer.

  • You will seek new business opportunities, business partners andcustomers and manage existing business partners and customerswhile closely engaging with our marketing, technology, innovationand licensing teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD or Master´s degree in science in chemistry, catalysis orchemical engineering or equivalent

  • several years of working experience in technical sales, businessdevelopment, process engineering, marketing and working withcustomers in the area of Catalysts, with regard to heterogeneousPM-catalysts qualification

  • knowledge about the technical, commercial and complianceaspects of the PM business, to support customers during allmajor steps of a full-loop business

  • strong communication skills in English as well as excellentnegotiation and account management skills together with distinctnetworking competencies

  • ability to convince and influence with your way of thinking as wellas your strong customer focus
