Continuous Improvement Coordinator (2201454) – Hannibal, MO
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to work with the Operational Excellence Manager to implement and sustain a Continuous Improvement process and culture at the Hannibal site. Areas of focus will include: Lean and Six Sigma, OpEx Measures, Sustainability, and Culture. You will also align your activities with the strategic objectives of the Site.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your history of identifying and implementing improvements to technology, processes, equipment, or organizations. You will also get to share your ability and motivation to rapidly learn new topics, as well as your familiarity with Six Sigma concepts (DMAIC, hypothesis testing, statistical process control, process capability, design of experiments).
Formula for Success
Leveraging your education in Engineering, Chemistry, or other related field with transferrable knowledge OR applicable on the job experience you will implement and sustain Lean management systems on the shop floor, including (but not limited to): 5S, visual management, waste elimination, and continuous improvement. This includes training and ongoing coaching of all employees as well as contribution to workload required for creating/maintaining management systems.
Demonstrating your familiarity with Lean concepts (continuous improvement, waste elimination, SMED, 5S, visual management, production leveling, one-piece flow, mistake-proofing, and respect for people), you will facilitate cross-functional improvement events (Kaizen, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, etc.) to eliminate waste and improve safety, efficiency, cost, and quality of production processes.
Working with a cross-functional team (Operations, Controlling, and Project Management), you will manage Site projects within the OpEx database to facilitate capital investment and track Continuous Improvement gains (including those not requiring capital).
Utilizing your familiarity with chemical process industry equipment and processes, including regulatory compliance, safety, operations, maintenance, and quality, you will ensure that all OpEx measures entered contain high-quality and accurate justifications and that benefits tracking is performed at the appropriate intervals. As needed, you will also perform activities associated with actual project implementation (training, documentation, etc.).
Your strong organizational skills will aid you as you manage and track resulting improvement recommendations/projects.
Successfully engaging with others, you will participate in activities that are not limited to Operations departments and could also include business processes within the supporting departments (Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, etc).
Applying your software capabilities in programs such as Minitab, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and/or Power Automate, you will create use cases, identify applicable solutions, and implement.
Utilizing prior energy management experience (e.g. ISO 50001) you will drive the site’s sustainability efforts forward.
Your effective interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills will serve you well as you lead without authority and steer cross-functional improvement opportunities. In doing so, you will develop a holistic view of problem-solving across functions and share improvement lessons site wide.
