Maintenance Technician I – Parma, ID
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring building and assets are kept in good condition by supporting all departments by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
This position is directly accountable to the Maintenance Manager of the Parma Processing Facility for leveraging maintenance and repairs of equipment in Quality Assurance, Conditioning, Enhancement, Treatment, Packaging, Shipping & Receiving, and Warehouse.
This position will utilize skilled maintenance experience to learn and apply reliability procedures and principles. Establish a clear understanding mechanically on the use of equipment/ in the different processing areas. As experience and competence is gained, assignments become more varied and are performed with more independence.
Assist the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler in KPI success by keeping downtime to a minimum, complete work orders within the established timelines and manage parts inventory.
Seek and evaluate Process Improvements tools, materials and methods to match specific organizational needs as outlined by Management and adapt them to use in the execution of process improvement projects.
Assist in the implementation of a safe, secure, cost effective, quality maintenance program including mechanical installations & repairs for the facility.
Principal job responsibilities include:
Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians and coordinate complex maintenance tasks.
Works directly with department managers and operators to follow up on work orders and completed work.
Collaborates and coordinates closely with Planner/Scheduler and Reliability Engineer to optimize maintenance actives and further develop and improve the Reliability Centered Maintenance Program.
Provide expertise and training on areas of maintenance activities. Provide training and support of Preventative Maintenance Program as required or needed. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and on equipment.
Examine electrical and control devices in operation to locate possible causes and troubleshoot electrical systems, computer controls, PLC, HMI, VFDs.
Performs electrical maintenance including, but not limited to replacement or repair of devices and fixtures using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Performs mechanical maintenance including, but not limited to mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and troubleshooting equipment.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, one line diagrams, and P&IDs to perform required maintenance and service. Utilize CMMS system to manage asset information and work orders.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Forklift License, Hoisting Equipment, Confined Space, Control of Hazardous Energy.
Responds to equipment failures during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns. Able to work flexible hours and respond to call in on evenings and weekends.

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years maintenance experience
10 years maintenance experience
Professional Trade License: Journeyman Electrician with Instrumentation Skills
Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance strategies and methodologies
Experience in maintaining and repairing Buildings, Industrial Equipment, and Infrastructure
Experience in General Industry Safety requirements
Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
