Turnaround/Outage Leader (2202389) – Pasadena, TX

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to plan, lead, and drive the successful execution of all assigned phases of the turnaround (TAR) management process for the Pasadena, TX site. You will be charged with providing leadership and management to the execution teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective performance of Turnaround and Outage maintenance by BASF employees and contractors. You will also be responsible for the planning and execution of small planned outages for the site.

Formula for Success

  • Your strong leadership skills will be essential as you will lead a TAR team of contractors to ensure on-time planning, scheduling, and coordination of resources. You will also be tasked with supervising day-to-day work during the TAR execution phase.

  • Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will assist in the development of multiple 5-year plans, budgets ($10M to $70M), schedules, and organizations in line with business unit objectives.

  • Leveraging your professional experience in managing turnarounds/outages, you will ensure the execution of the Pasadena turnarounds adhere to BASF’s TAR procedures and best practices including proper close out of the TAR project. As well, you will leverage your network within the BASF turnaround communities to help improve the Pasadena outages using continuous process improvement methodologies such as LEAN and OpEx.

  • Your commitment to safety will be critical as you promote employee awareness of safe working practices and behaviors. You will also be responsible for ensuring that safety policies and procedures are properly integrated into the TAR planning and adhered to during TAR execution.

  • Using your experience within Operations/Maintenance, you will steward the development/clarification of TAR work scope and TAR Objectives to challenge and optimize the scope to be executed inside the TAR window.

  • Your knowledge of SAP and accounting practices will be a valued asset as you manage activities associated with maintenance and projects work including the development and stewardship of the turnaround and outage budgets.

  • Applying your exceptional communication skills, you will report to the TAR executive steering committee on status of TAR cost, milestone delivery, and TAR Performance KPIs, while ensuring appropriate resources are gained in support of the TAR. You will also be responsible for managing communications and meetings of TAR related activities with multiple groups across the site to ensure alignment.
