What You'll Be Doing - We are seeking a professional like you to support day-to-day supply stream procurement activities for the assigned plants (Peekskill, Newport, North Charleston, Hartwell, Southfield, and Tarrytown) and to support the implementation of category strategies. In the position of Senior Regional Contract Manager within our G-EDP/GS Global Procurement unit at BASF Colors & Effects, you will ensure availability of third-party supply and actively manage inflows of goods and services in order to guarantee business continuity and successful supply. You will also routinely engage with the associated plants and suppliers in an effort to align supplier capabilities with BASF strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions for new and existing raw materials.

  • Work safely. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by being aware of and implementing company wide and site safety policies/procedures.

  • Implementation of procurement agreements and conditions within SAP including all connected activities.

  • In very close alignment with internal partners such as, Regional Buyers, Supply-Chain production, etc. you will systematically analyze the procurement risks and set up action plans and corrective measures to ensure constant availability of all incoming raw materials, packaging, technical goods and services. Your target is to secure a stable, reliable and profitable supply chain over the long term.

  • You will manage the supplier and materials registration and qualification process using SAP and related systems. You will also drive the consequent improvement activities.

  • You will be responsible for developing your set of KPIs in order to track your activity and ensure constant business continuity and early warnings.

  • You will guarantee a systematic and regular follow-up of running projects and subsequent reporting.

  • Your strong communication skills will be a valued asset as you interact with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to collect all relevant information to assess impact to BASF and define necessary corrective actions. In addition, you will support purchase order creation and processing as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree and/or advanced degree in Supply Chain and/or Business Administration.

  • 3 years relevant work experience (procurement or sales); 5 years preferred.

  • Experience working with internal partners within a Procurement and/or Supply Chain organization.

  • Strong analytical skills, SAP knowledge and good technical understanding.

  • Demonstrated ability to set up and carry out projects/programs/agreements and lead a supplier/material registration and qualification process.

  • Entrepreneurial drive, possess a commercial approach with strategic mindset.
