BASF Field Research Associate/ Field Research Technician-Crop Protection (Contract) in Regina, Saskatchewan

As an Agronomy Research Associate (Crop Protection), you will;

  • Manage crop protection research programs (independently) on local research farm

  • Manage research farm targets, capabilities, equipment, inventory, cooperating farmers.

  • Support effective research partnerships with external parties to support product development

  • Support the development of technical training for seasonal research staff.

  • Effectively hire, train and develop talent (Seasonal Interns) as part of executing your research program.

  • Support a learning culture that provides for the collection of high quality field research results.

  • Support a leading safety culture at your farm

  • Support local research farm capabilities to achieve key Canadian technical / market targets.

  • Collect high quality data to establish confidence in Canadian projects both internally with the business and externally with regulators.

  • Utilize methodologies and capabilities to consistently and efficiently evaluate new solutions.

As an Agronomy Research Technician (Crop Protection), you will;

  • Assist in the management of crop protection research programs on local research farm

  • Manage research farm targets, capabilities, equipment, inventory, cooperating farmers.

  • Support the development of technical training for seasonal research staff.

  • Support a learning culture that provides for the collection of high quality field research results.

  • Support a leading safety culture at your farm

  • Support local research farm capabilities to achieve key Canadian technical / market targets.

  • Utilize methodologies and capabilities to consistently and efficiently evaluate new crop protection solutions.

As an Agronomy Research Associate (Crop Protection), you will hold;

M.Sc in Agriculture/Biology with emphasis on crop science, weed science, agronomy, entomology, plant pathology or related discipline.

and

Minimum 1 year (field season) of relative field experience, managing field research / product development projects across indications. Experience in working with growers, distribution/retail, universities, or consultants would be beneficial.

Or

B.Sc in Agriculture/Biology with emphasis on crop science, weed science, agronomy, entomology, plant pathology or related discipline.

and

Minimum 3 year (field seasons) of relative field experience, managing field research / product development projects across indications. Experience in working with growers, distribution/retail, universities, or consultants would be beneficial.

In addition;

Ability to share knowledge and expertise with others. Actively participate on teams to solve problems or achieve team goals. Strong organizational, time management and project management skills are also essential.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with audiences of varying backgrounds. Must be skilled at development and delivery of presentations to both external and internal customers. Excellent computer skills and proficient in various software programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, ARM/SPEAD. Key influencer relationships are well developed such that partnerships on research projects, training curriculum development and implementation are fostered.

As an Agronomy Research Technician (Crop Protection), you will hold;

B.Sc or Diploma in Agriculture/Biology with emphasis on crop science, weed science, agronomy, entomology, plant pathology or related discipline.

and

Minimum 1 year (field season) of relative field experience, managing field research / product development projects across indications. Experience in working with growers, distribution/retail, universities, or consultants would be beneficial.

In addition;

Ability to share knowledge and expertise with others. Actively participate on teams to solve problems or achieve team goals. Strong organizational, time management and project management skills are also essential. Experience with farm equipment and or a mechanical aptitude is desired.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with audiences of varying backgrounds. Excellent computer skills and proficient in various software programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, ARM/SPEAD.
