Corn Fungicide Product Manager – (1800735)

We are currently searching for a motivated Corn Fungicide Product Manager for our Agricultural Products (AP) Crop Protection Division in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

BASF Agricultural Products is seeking a Crop Protection Product Manager, Corn Fungicides to:

  • Under supervision from Sr. Market Manager, develop and implement corn fungicide business plans for assigned products, market segments, and manage the day to day operational business.

  • Develop market introduction plans for new fungicide product launches with a focus on market development and implementation of positioning, messaging, and value proposition.

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to Marketing Communications Specialist and Communication Agency in the execution of advertising, promotions, sponsorships, special events, collateral marketing and other promotional activities with an overall objective of conveying a unified and distinctive leadership presence in the marketplace.

  • Develop and update product concepts detailing mid and long-term strategies for assigned products

  • Monitor, record and report events occurring in assigned markets -- including the collecting and recording of marketplace intelligence related to 1) competitors, their products and marketing programs; 2) trends, threats and market opportunities; 3) customer expectations; and 4) any other events/activities potentially affecting opportunities for BASF to successfully implement our business plans.

  • Manage assigned product(s) short and long-term supply, forecasting, and profitability by coordinating a balance between short-term operating results and long-term market share development.

  • Coordinate with other key internal and external groups to ensure product-related plans are implemented.

  • Strive to consistently motivate the BASF sales force and channel partners by keeping them informed about products, product performance, and our go-to-market strategy

  • Actively participate as marketing representative on Project Teams, providing input for justification, approval, development, and introduction of new projects for commercialization

  • Participate in the development and implementation of industry insights and messages that are impactful for the BASF organization in working with our customers to identifying market and sales opportunities for BASF products.

  • Participation in a cross-function team focused on preserving and increasing BASF’s market presence in row crop fungicides

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • BS in business, agronomy or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing, sales, and/or technical support experience.

  • Business acumen and ability to strategically analyze global reaching factors and summarize into concise, creative plans to reach financial goals.

  • Able and willing to travel up to 25%, primarily domestically.

  • Demonstrated ability to be further developed with BASF, to include relocation

We Also Look For…

  • MS degree or MBA

  • 5-years experience the in agri-business industry.

  • Broader experience across industry segments including understanding of the corn fungicide and crop protection markets
