Marketing Manager (2002342) – Research Triangle Park, NC

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for setting an annual and three-year business strategy that results in net sales growth that is faster than the market. Additionally, you will be responsible for the launch of new products, for monitoring market trends, leading market research projects, participation in global product development project teams, and interfacing with a broad cross functional team, including Sales, Communications, Customer Experience, Controlling, Operations, P&SS (non Crop) Leadership Team, etc. Lastly, it will be your mission to reach or exceed the annual budget for your segment which requires the close monitoring of the path to get there (monthly forecast.)

Formula for Success

  • Your proven leadership skills will be essential as you will be responsible for leading a team to achieve annual business targets (e.g.- sale and profit targets, engagement plan targets, cost center budget) in assigned market segment(s).

  • Thinking strategically and demonstrating your strong business acumen, you will develop a three-year strategic plan for assigned segment(s) including financial targets, portfolio roadmaps, go-to-market and channel strategies.

  • Working collaboratively, you will actively participate on global product development core teams, providing clear feedback on customer needs/fit, and business case value.

  • Leveraging your education and experience in Sales and/or Marketing, you will lead new product launches through APN’s PLE BCT process to ensure cross-functional collaboration and on-time delivery of innovations, ultimately initiating first customer engagement two-years prior to launch.

  • Demonstrating your superior project management ability and keen attention to detail, you will closely monitor market trends and conditions both at the competitor and end-customer level through market research, regularly scheduled customer visits/meetings, and on-going interaction with the field organizations.Additionally, you will report pertinent new information to the greater organization and make recommendations on how to combat a competitive threat, or to capitalize on a new trend, always keeping BASF agile.

  • Your excellent communication skills will be a valued asset as you interface with supply chain, demand management, manufacturing, controlling, global marketing, sales, customer experience, and the US P&SS Leadership Team to successfully communicate strategic and tactical direction to enable the group to meet or exceed financial targets.

  • Utilizing your solid financial analysis skills, you will manage overall market planning, pricing, accrual, inventory, and profitability to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded.
