Product Launch Manager – Seed Solutions (RTP, NC) – 1802140

Where the Chemistry Happens

As a Product Launch Manager for our Seed Solutions business, you will develop and execute marketing plans for new seed treatment products across multiple crops. You will develop a clear Unique Value Proposition (UVP) & market launch plan for the assigned products, including: develop a clear business plan and opportunity mapping, identify and track plan metrics, financial objectives, and implement strategies and tactics with sales, account management, technical service and senior management.

Formula for Success

  • Leverage your education and experience in the Business or Agronomy field.

  • Drive the UVP development efforts for individual branded products, product pricing, reward programs, customer interaction model, market research and the execution of a portfolio sales approach

  • Monitor, record and report events occurring in assigned segments -- including the collecting and recording of marketplace intelligence related to 1) competitors, their products and marketing programs; 2) trends, threats and market opportunities; 3) customer expectations; and 4) any other events/activities potentially affecting opportunities for BASF to successfully implement its business plans

  • Pro-actively manage the product life cycles of the assigned products and update product concepts detailing mid and long-term strategies for lead market segments and prepare project plans for approval

  • Actively work with the regional marketing team and technical services to identify key portfolio gaps, new product concepts and address innovation needs to fill gaps supported with proper business cases

  • Coordinate with other key internal and external groups to ensure segment-related plans are implemented

  • Participate in ongoing customer interaction to help position BASF and our products

  • Manage assigned business segment(s) including; operational forecasting, and coordinating supply requirements with market developments.

  • Manage assigned product short and long-term supply, forecasting, and profitability by coordinating a balance between short-term operating results and long-term market share development

  • Provide strategic direction seed treatment oversight to Marketing Communications Specialist and Communication Agency in the execution of advertising, promotions, sponsorships, special events, collateral marketing and other promotional activities, with an overall objective of conveying a unified and distinctive leadership presence in the marketplace
