Product Manager – Inoculants, Colors & Coatings – US Seed Treatment – RTP, NC (2000288)

Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are currently seeking a Product Manager – Inoculants, Colors & Coatings - Seed Treatment US for our Agriculture Products division in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Develop and implement Inoculants, Colors & Coatings seed treatment business plans for assigned products, market segments, and manage the day-to-day operational business under direction from the Marketing Lead, US Seed Treatments.

  • Actively gather input for developing life cycle management (LCM) projects and new concepts to secure approval for commercialization.

  • Develop market introduction plans for life cycle management products and new seed treatment product launches with a focus on market development and implementation of positioning, messaging, and value proposition.

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to Marketing Communications and communication agency in the execution of advertising, promotions, sponsorships, special events, collateral marketing and other promotional activities.

  • Work closely with and gain consensus on product strategies and plan with Global Marketing to align US Strategy with Global Strategy.

  • Monitor, record, and report events occurring in assigned markets, including collecting and recording of marketplace intelligence related to competitors, their products, and marketing programs; trends, threats, and market opportunities; customer expectations; and any other events/activities potentially affecting opportunities to successfully implement business plans.

  • Provide leadership in the overall coordination of production, inventory management, forecasting, and resource strategies.

  • Strive to consistently motivate the BASF sales force, seed company and channel partners by keeping them informed about products, product performance, and our go-to-market strategy.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in you...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agronomy, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.

  • Minimum 5 years marketing, sales, business development and/or technical support experience in the agri-business industry.

  • A proven work history of acting as a team player with outstanding communication skills.

  • Business acumen and ability to strategically analyze relevant data and summarize into concise, creative plans to reach financial goals.

  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 25%.

  • Strong entrepreneurial drive, collaboration and communication skills.
