Lead the development of new products and inclusion in the regional portfolio, involving seed varieties, seed forms and new technologies, advising and supporting the Crop sales manager in the technical knowledge and marketing position.

Regional Product Specialist- Watermelon – Remote – Florida (1805172)

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Design, coordinate and or execute regional trial programs in line with the M&S policy and the Assortment Strategy defined by the Global PS, in order to enable the assessment of field performance of experimental varieties in collaboration with Crop Team members.

  • Analyze and process the trial program data in line with the M&S policy and within Nunhems in order to draw conclusions regarding - variety performance.

  • Present and discuss variety conclusions and new seed tech products to Crop Team(s).

  • Advise the Crop Sales Manager and Global PS regarding the assortment with respect to one or more crops in the region assigned, in line with the M&S policy and within Nunhems in order to contribute to the success of the crop(s).

  • Advise the Crop Sales Manager and Global PS regarding the seed production plan for trial varieties in order to contribute to the qualitative and quantitative sufficient trial seeds.

  • In coordination with Global PS initiate and propose variety registration and application for plant breeder rights and naming of promising trial varieties in order to protect the Nunhems crops interest.

  • Prepare, coordinate and execute all the procedures in the Elevation varieties (Elevation Process) from screening2 to trial.

  • Inform breeding team on the needs of the market, in order to give priorities to the assortment per market segment and type.

  • Make and support of the Growing Concept in special varieties.

  • Attend and Support to different complaints that can happen.

  • Prepare and Request Seed production (Trial varieties: TR1 and TR2 status) and coordinate the distribution of them.

  • Provide technical support to sales specialists, account managers and customers by means of advise and training regarding one or more crops in line with the M&S policy in order to ensure a successful variety introduction and development of the BCS-VS market share.

  • Bachelor or Master degree in agriculture

  • At least three years’ experience within agriculture and in the development of varieties (trials).

  • Competencies: analytical skills, very organized, good decision making.

  • Team player with good communication skills

  • Ability to guide and motivate the trial teams

  • Commercial aptitude

  • Proactiveness
