We are seeking a professional like you to join BASF’s Computational Chemistry & Bioinformatics group within the global Digitalization in Research and Development function at our site in Research Triangle Park, NC. As part of an enthusiastic global team of digital experts, you will support BASF’s worldwide Bioscience Research activities with a focus on crop and microbial bioinformatics.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field with 2 years relevant work experience or MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field with 5 years of relevant work experience or BS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field with 7 years of relevant work experience you will develop, apply, and evaluate new computational solutions to manage workflow automation, data curation, and application development.

  • As a motivational people leader, you will manage, coach, and develop your team while providing hands-on scientific project support by directly analyzing genome, metagenome, proteome, transcriptome, and various other datasets for in-depth mining and interpretation.

  • Successfully engaging across the organization, you will build relationships with internal project partners to gain consensus on model plant, crop, and microbial bioinformatics.

  • Your solid proficiency in scripting and exposure to multiple programming languages (R & Python or similar) will be a valued asset as you challenge the status quo and help your team develop new solutions to current and future demands.
