This position will report to the Bridge Maintenance Sector, National Sales Manager for the Watson Bowman Acme (WBA) business, a division of BASF Construction Chemicals. WBA specializes in design, manufacture and sale of expansion control systems for the construction industry. WBA offers specialty products and services for the infrastructure market sectors, including bridge, parking facilities and stadiums, and architectural building structures.

WBA Regional Sales Manager, West Coast - Bridge Maintenance and Tunnel Construction Sector

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving assigned regional sales and profitability plan and maintaining WBA leading sector position through execution of product promotion and sales activities to key influencers and various types of customers. This includes, but is not limited to, timely and accurate reporting of sales objectives, sales forecasting, sales planning, and developing/maintaining account and business relationships. This role will coordinate with WBA Sales Management leadership and will interface daily with customers including Department of Transportation officials, consulting engineering firms, and bridge and tunnel contractors.

Formula for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Engineering from an accredited college or university and relevant professional work experience within the construction industry.

  • Proven market influence and sales success based on organic growth, increased market share, and/or new product sales.

  • Demonstrated technical capabilities to provide product recommendations to consulting engineers and contractors through presentations and written proposals.

  • A thorough understanding of contract documents, with ability to independently act and respond to commercial and technical inquiries.

  • Technical and commercial competence to be viewed as a trusted advisor to buying customers, consultants, and owners.

  • Time management and relationship building skills to develop customer loyalty and confidence in the wabo ® brand using a progressive approach to exceeding customer needs.

  • Educate and enhance the WBA value proposition as well as BASF as a total solutions provider.
