Formula for Success: You Will…

BASF's White BioTechnology is seeking an experienced Field Technical Support Specialist who is located in the Midwest with reasonable access to a major airport.

This position is responsible for the technical support requirements of BASF technical sales representatives and customers in the fuel ethanol market.

The position entails planning and executing customer trials of BASF enzymes and chemicals. The technical support person is also responsible for fulfilling the technical support needs of existing BASF customers including: data analysis, report generation, delivering presentations, troubleshooting, full plant operational reviews, customer training, recommendations on plant optimizations and potential engineering changes and plant SOP’s.

The technical support representative may also be involved in new production develop of BASF products.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • BS degree in engineering, chemistry, biochemistry and/or biology or similar

  • 5 years’ experience in an ethanol/fermentation production environment as an operations manager, lab manager or technical expert (or similar role).

  • Experience in statistical analysis and associated software.

  • Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the entire ethanol production process, unit operations, equipment specifications/design and new technologies being applied at the fuel ethanol plants.

  • Ability to work independently, develop trial and customer plans/reports, and prioritize and meet project goals.

  • Good interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and strong customer engagement and the ability to work with all levels of plant personnel.

  • Demonstrated success in attention to detail, taking initiative, collaboration, time management, and displaying the needed sense of urgency.

  • Position will work remotely and candidates must be able to travel approximately 50%-60% of the time. Self-motivation, self-direction, having a true passion for what you do, and the ability to work independently are keys in this role.

  • Ideal candidate with live in the Midwest with reasonable access to a major airport.

We Also Look For…

  • Statistical software experience with Jump and Minitab or other is a plus.

  • Sales experience is a plus.
