Agricultural Innovation Sales Specialist - Coastal (North/Central), CA) (1801740) – Remote Position

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial Agricultural Innovation Sales Specialist to develop and maintain business relationships with corporate farms identified as strategic to BASF in the assigned territory. The objective is to educate and sell growers on the benefits of using BASF crop protection products and services, as well as assist Marketing in the development of business strategies and tactics that target corporate farms.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Sell BASF crop protection products and services to targeted corporate farm customers via education and product demonstrations

  • Develop, implement and track business plans with targeted corporate farms

  • Assist Marketing in the development of business strategies and tactics that meet the needs of the targets corporate farms, as well as BASF objectives

  • Work closely with a sales team, a technical service team and strategic account managers to coordinate activities with BASF distribution partners

  • Attend designated Marketing and Sales meetings

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5 years of experience in the agricultural industry, to include background in sales or sales support role

  • Ability and willingness to live in the assigned territory

  • Demonstrated understanding of basic marketing concepts and proficiency in adapting marketing plans into business plans that meet customer needs

  • Current Pest Control Advisor (PCA) qualification, or abilty to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, PowerPoint presentation development, and Excel; Able to learn and navigate through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools while working with customers

  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and to manage multiple tasks at the same time; Strong negotiation and influencing skills; A winning attitude, as well as creative, responsible, and a good team player

  • Bachelors in Business, Agriculture or Related Area

  • MS/MBA/PhD Degree in Related Field

  • Background in Specialty Crops and Corporate Farm operations
