Where the Chemistry Happens…
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the site management (maintenance and reliability, capital investment, strategic site planning, process technology and compliance) and is accountable for the safe, secure and efficient operations of Canola Center of Innovation in Saskatoon. This position is responsible for building operations, projects, security and supervises direct reports within the maintenance department as well as external contractors and reception.
Formula for Success: You Will…
Participate in the development of short term and strategic planning of site maintenance and site development as Member of Saskatoon Site Management team
Manage all technical aspects to assure the safe and efficient operations of Canola Center of Innovation in Saskatoon
Responsible for site security and safety
Plan and manage the facility’s operational & capital investment budgets
Plan and execute site investment projects. Manage asset obligations, investments and their related expense budgets
Manage the projects and large investment projects including planning, designing, monitoring, cost tracking and interact with third party suppliers, service providers, contractors to ensure smooth and timely projects completion
Leadership role as site management representative for OHC including reporting & submitting ‘incident reports’
Supervise direct reports (administrative staff; site maintenance) as well as external contractors
Organize and lead site meetings for Managers and employees
Ensure legal compliance with all Government, Provincial and local laws and statutes, BCS policies, guidelines, and good practices
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with local authorities, statutory bodies and key third party stakeholders
Provide site support to off- site locations including: Oak Bluff (MB), Ardrossan (AB), Kamsack (SK) and Belle Plaine (SK)
Oversee upkeep of perimeter fence, and Shelterbelts that surround the main location properties
Responsible to supervise maintenance of sediment and evaporation lagoons to ensure all season operation

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor Degree preferably in Agriculture
Minimum 5 years of experience in site administration & maintenance required
Exposure to an engineering/construction environment and project management in the past role would be an asset
Demonstrated leadership ability in previous roles in management of different scale projects
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, databases and resource management software
Substantial working experience in multifunctional, multicultural groups having social, communication and organizational skills to effectively network and partner with stakeholders internally and externally
Media training would be an asset
Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts
Ability to work effectively with vendors and contractors
