Where the Chemistry Happens....
The Technical Service Greenhouse Technician is responsible for completing the day to day tasks associated with a greenhouse program, including plant maintenance, greenhouse and growth chamber cleaning, experiment set up, and photography of plants in experiments assistance with experimental evaluations. will be responsible for entering data generated in the greenhouse into electronic format, cataloging and labelling photos and uploading information into our database.
Formula for Success: You Will…
· Be responsible for pesticide application for experiments, as well as pesticide application as required for plant maintenance.
· Efficiently enter data generated in the greenhouse into electronic format, cataloging and labelling photos and uploading information into our database.
· Perform technical service for laboratory based duties associated with the greenhouse research program.
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You …
A diploma in Agriculture or other science based discipline is the minimum requirement, however a degree is preferred
Horticulture experience and previous greenhouse experience is an asset, however not required.
Preference will be given to applicants with previous greenhouse or lab experience
An understanding of western Canadian Agriculture and Crops.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
Attention to detail is a necessity.
Ability to complete repetitive tasks.
Ability to work in a greenhouse environment (standing, hot, humid).
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a strong emphasis on safety.
