We are looking for a Contact Supervisor to join our Refinery Catalyst team in Savannah, GA.

As a Contact Supervisor for our Refinery Catalysts business unit, you will lead and coordinate the work activities of employees working in BASF’s Savannah operations department, as well as supporting other manufacturing activities in facility as required to meet production goals.

During your 12-hour shift as a Contact Supervisor, you will

  • Supervise daily safety issues in the department, document safety incidents through the Accident/Incident Management Program and manage all cases promptly and thoroughly. You will also support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care®, EPA and OSHA initiatives by protecting the environment, health, safety and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers and neighbors.

  • Lead operators in daily shift discussions to review safety messages, communicate work assignments, review production status & priorities. You will use these skills to provide operations coordination for asset optimization through coordination with Maintenance including project work and industrial cleaning activities.

  • Identify potential areas needing additional training by the operators and follow up to ensure such training is provided in a timely manner. You will also verify the effectiveness of the training through routine employee evaluations. Additionally, you will ensure departmental procedures are current and accurate and that all direct reports have completed all necessary training and possess qualifications to perform the work assigned. As well as develop and mentor operators using the salaried performance process in Success Factors. You will help establish goals and objectives for Target Agreements and provide timely feedback on performance as needed. And review your operator basic care routes and area inspection sheets and follow up with operators as necessary.

  • Meet our established product quality targets. When nonconforming product is produced, you will proactively get involved in, and provide information for, root cause investigations.

  • Submit SAP work notifications to address repairs, participate in the prioritization of maintenance needs. You will ensure operators prepare, using the four-eye principle, equipment isolations, accurate safe work permits, and other permits as needed for Maintenance to complete the work safely. You will ensure operators, using the four-eye principle, perform equipment deisolation’s.

  • Lead by example and establish a working environment that involves trust to drive a diverse, high-performing team while creating a vision that fosters a sense of common ownership

If you...

  • Have a HS Diploma or GED with 3 years of manufacturing experience and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.

  • Are willing and able to work 12hr rotating shifts (day/night/weekend/holidays/on call)

  • Have strong written and communication skills. Strong computer capabilities in SAP, MS Office, Lotus Notes, etc. would be a plus for this position
