What you can expect

Our unit Battery drives responsible care and profitable growth for the world's leading catalyst supplier by developing, improving and applying the safest and best manufacturing technologies to meet the needs of our customers.

  • You will support the Global Business Development Manager in North America with strategy, development and expansion of the base metals Nickel, Cobalt and Lithium to serve BASFs battery materials business and its customer requirements.

  • In close collaboration with the regional and functional leaders of the catalyst manufacturing organization you will maximize established trading expertise, resources and infrastructure to ensure the most cost efficient and effective outcome.

  • You will mirror the existing platinum group metals (PGM) trading business model to ensure cost competitive services are provided to industrial customers with a full line of Nickel, Cobalt and Lithium management services.

  • To ensure alignment on all customer commitments around these base metal services, you will work closely with the regional battery materials business leadership.

  • You will support the Global Business Development Manager to collect all base materials related marketing and technical marketing expertise including new onstream projects as well as technology process and provide recommendations accordingly.

What we expect

  • degree in chemistry/chemical engineering, refinery technology, economics or business administration

  • long-term experience of progressive operations, commercial or trading work, background in base metals strongly preferred

  • understanding of commodities markets necessary with proficient knowledge of Nickel, Cobalt and Lithium markets

  • demonstrated strength in establishing and maintaining senior level relationships with customers

  • fluent in English and German as well as international experience
