BASF’s Seneca, South Carolina Catalyst site is seeking a professional like you to drive, coordinate and support EHS programs, management systems and related sustainability efforts. In this role, you will oversee 4 - 5 EHS Professionals at the Seneca site, as well as provide support to the Catalyst NA EHS Team Leader.

This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your regulatory and technical expertise in Environmental, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and/or Process Safety. You will also share your ability to effectively interact with and influence corporate and site leadership, elected officials and regulatory agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders / representatives.

Formula for Success

  • Successfully engaging within the organization, you will work with staff and the Site Leadership team on goal planning and alignment.

  • Demonstrating your EHS experience and strategic thinking, you will lead / support efforts to optimize effectiveness and efficiency of EHS programs. Additionally, you will support BASF Responsible Care© Management Systems, including effective implementation of BASF standardized EHS processes, and participation in management system reviews.

  • Your ability to identify and prioritize issues and opportunities and drive change will be a valued asset as you coordinate with the BASF's EHS Centers of Expertise and others on development of processes and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in EHS.

  • Working with a results-oriented mindset, you will ensure effective communication of new / modified internal and external EHS requirements and help with implementation planning.

  • Your strong written and verbal communication skills will serve you well as you facilitate the sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and successfully demonstrated practices within the Catalyst Division, and across BASF's North America Region.

  • Leveraging your education in EHS, Engineering, Science, or a business-related field and your experience in a manufacturing environment, you will implement systems to identify and monitor key performance indicators within your area of responsibility and adjust resources and programs as needed to improve EHS performance.

  • Relying on your supervisory and team leadership experience, you will supervise assigned EHS staff to meet EHS performance goals within area of responsibilities, participate in assessing staff performance, and foster their professional development. You will also ensure effective / efficient assignment of EHS roles & responsibilities.

  • Your ability to build solid working relationships with direct reports, team members, site leadership team, and other internal / external stakeholders will be essential as you support the NA RC Manager with developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, managing risks, tracking status activities, and sharing internal resources across the CC sites as needed. Additionally, you will work with the site leadership team and staff to identify and prioritize EHS issues and opportunities, develop and implement action plans to reduce EHS risks and improve EHS performance.
