Controls Engineer (2101642) – Sparta, TN

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to join our Sparta team. In this role, you will be responsible for the sites control assets. You will also be directly involved in an exciting new project to automate Sparta site logistics. The Sparta site manufactures a wide range of Engineering Plastics. From the impact resistant plastic on DIYers power drill to the lighter automobile components, Engineering Plastics are found in many aspects of daily life.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your education in Electrical or Chemical Engineering and your experience in specialty chemical automation, you will provide expert support for the site control systems.

  • Your solid programming software knowledge will be essential as you utilize PLC equipment and software during your daily work.

  • Demonstrating your robust technical knowledge, you will perform advanced control and graphic configuration on systems across the plant.

  • Your effective communication and strong teamwork skills will serve you well as you coordinate with Operations to implement process improvement, troubleshooting, and periodic health checks of installed base control systems.

  • Your reliability experience will be a valued asset as you develop and execute long term control systems upgrade and maintenance strategies.

  • Understanding plant specific requirements and control systems, you will provide technical expertise for other systems and communications protocols used onsite such as OSI PI data collection, networking and I/O.

  • Striving for innovation and thinking analytically, you will support project design, commissioning and startup activities.

  • Your effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as reliability centered maintenance work practices will be a valued asset as you assist in recommending training and development options for in-house maintenance resources.
