Quality Control Lab Technician - 1801370 – Spartanburg, SC
The Lab Technician I provides quality control support for site production activities by performing routine and some non-routine testing of raw materials, semi-finished and finished products. Provide support for product shipping activities by analysis of shipments, generation of COAs and record keeping. Provide assistance to site departments as needed to ensure product quality. The position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures precisely in a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. This is an entry level position.
Perform routine testing and approval of raw materials, semi-finished and finished products.
Perform testing of product shipments and generate certificate of analysis for shipments.
Perform non-routine testing of materials under the supervision of the QC manager or a Senior Lab Technician.
Communication with production and shipping departments regarding test results and material status.
Assist the Production Department when nonconforming product occurs. Notification of the QC manager when nonconforming finished product occurs.
Maintain records of analytical results and input of test results to computer data system.
Preparation and testing of lab blends and approval of conforming blends.
Follows all applicable site policies in the performance of these duties.
Complete all required safety training and follow all applicable safety procedures in the performance of work.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
• High School Diploma or GED and minimum 1 year of lab work experience desired OR an associate degree in chemistry or chemical technology.
• Temporary (contract) employees with a high school diploma who have successfully completed White Stone site lab training and shown demonstrated competency in this work will also be considered.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and use commercial software systems such as SAP.
• Must have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be able to prioritize work flow in a self-directed manner in a fast paced production environment.
• Experience with SAP a plus
• Must possess good organization skills and the ability and desire to read, understand, and follow testing methods
