Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Fenton, MO, BASF manufacturing site is looking for a second shift Production Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight to a crew of 10 - 20 production operators within the second shift manufacturing environment. The production hours willbe 2:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Production Supervisor – Fenton, MO (1900696)

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for safely managing production lines and scheduling resources to accomplish work in a safe, timely, quality conscious, efficient & cost-effective manner to meet customer requirements. You will also deliver and track training in processes and procedures for all site production personnel.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Give technical support to all production staff and ProductionManager and also act as deputy in Manager's absence

  • Handle emergency schedule breaks by effectively and efficientlyassigning work within the available resources

  • Oversees, but is also capable to perform operation ofprocess equipment in a safe manner according to written procedures, performminor maintenance, and maintain excellent housekeeping

  • Prepare, communicate, and maintain written records of employeeperformance including coaching, performance counseling & discipline as wellas recognition of exceptional performance

  • Provide proper documentation and administration of employee time& attendance, disability, worker's compensation, family medical leave, etc.

  • Facilitate BASF-sponsored safety awareness & traininginitiatives (confined space entry, lock-out tag-out, hot works, line break, aswell as other structured safety programs)

  • Prepare and deliver annual performance appraisals to directreports

  • Production reporting of daily activities

2 nd Shift: Monday – Friday 2pm – 10:30pm with Required Overtime

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years ofexperience in a manufacturing setting

  • A minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience in a manufacturingenvironment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with tabletcompression

  • BS/BA Degree in Engineeringor Related Discipline with 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting

  • AA Degree in a ManufacturingRelated Discipline with 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Demonstrated competencies in strong leadership and interpersonalskills, communication, customer focus, entrepreneurial acting/change agent andcoaching

  • Very strong process analytical/mechanical troubleshooting skills

  • Knowledge of inventory and production controls

  • Proficient computer skills
