Fermentation Tech 1 Boiler Operator – St. Joseph, Missouri (1800538)
The Fermentation Technician is responsible for all aspects of production within the facility. You will work in a team environment and also be self-directed. Throughout the shift you will lift 50 lbs consistently. You will receive specialized training on ISO 9001, manufacturing training and forklift certification. These duties include, but are not limited to the following areas.
Operation of PLC and SCADA controlled production (fermentation) equipment. This includes set-up, batching, sterilization (SIP), monitoring, sampling, harvesting, cleaning (CIP), and routine maintenance.
Operation of processing (centrifuges and filtration equipment) equipment. This includes set-up, monitoring, sampling, harvesting, cleaning and routine maintenance.
Operation of packaging (filling) equipment. This includes set-up, sterilization, operation, cleaning and routine maintenance.
Operation and routine maintenance of support equipment (clean air compressor, pure steam generator, boiler, autoclave, bio-safety cabinets, etc).
This includes media preparation and sterilization.
Coordination of blending and packaging of fermented raw material into final packages. Including calculation of cell mass required, removing cell mass from inventory adding cells to water to create broth for all liquid and solid products.
Clean, monitor and maintain the facility and equipment in such a manner as to assure production goals, quality of goods and services provided, and the safety of the facility, equipment, personnel and products.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For In You…
High School degree or equivalent required
Must have a class-I boiler operating permit.
At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
At least 1 year of mechanical experience including a working knowledge of tools, familiarity with fermentation equipment and instrumentation are key, including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and steam traps.
At least 1 year of computer navigation skills.
- Maintaining a fork lift operating certificate.
