Technology / Continuous Improvement Manager (2002362) – St. Joseph, MO

Where the Chemistry Happens

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Technology / Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for all site technology and continuous improvement functions. The successful candidate for this position must be a results-oriented leader who can build strong working relationships and function effectively at all levels of the organization, from the production floor to the senior management team. You must be able to provide operational knowledge and leadership to the Site with regards to day to day activities. In this role, you will manage, lead, and oversee process engineering in a safe, environmental, and cost-effective manner.

  • Your leadership skills and supervisory experience, combined with your strong written and verbal communication skills, will allow you to be successful communicating as you develop your direct reports, develop and train personnel on process SOP’s and champion site initiatives for improved technology/CI improvements.

  • Striving to protect the environment, you will maintain and increase environmental awareness and manage site compliance with all corporate standards and State and Federal regulations.

  • You will develop systems for quality improvement by building quality and consistency into our processes and people by maintaining and creating improved systems to ensure our quality, process and safety is ensured on a routine basis. Monitoring operations and assisting in operations when needed will be critical, a highly developed sense of RCA analysis and critical thinking skills will also be used to lead non-conforming product investigations.

  • Demonstrating your strong interpersonal skills and technical background, you will be the liaison between R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, Regulatory and the St. Joseph Site to introduce new and modified formulations and processes for distribution into the market.

  • Leveraging your education in, Chemistry, Biological Science, Engineering or a related discipline and your experience in production operations (specifically in Chemical or Biological processing, Fermentation with process improvement), you will lead planning of departmental priorities, development and implementation of process improvement project, prioritization of daily operations and capital projects to maintain and improve the operation.

  • Your working knowledge of mechanical equipment utilized in the chemical, biological or food processing industry or related industry, experience in experiment design and an understanding of statistics will be essential as you introduce new technology to support continuous improvement in safety, quality, manufacturing, and cost.

  • Applying your working knowledge of process improvement, process design and optimization, and quality assurance processes and procedures, you will lead and support continuous improvement efforts and Operational Excellence initiative.
