BASF Pharma Solutions is a global business unit that delivers excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients to the pharmaceutical market . The Global Technical Marketing group, based in Tarrytown NY, is a dynamic, customer-focused, fast-paced, technical center that generates knowledge about our products to support the development of drug formulations in all regions of the world. Our group is responsible for deploying pharmaceutically-relevant technical content to regional sales teams, and maintaining contact with customers, academic collaborators, consultants, regional laboratories, and numerous other disciplines and groups within BASF. This ensures that we provide the most advanced and complete information to the pharmaceutical industry in applications within the scope of Immediate and Modified Release of Oral Dosage Forms, Solubilization, Skin Delivery, Softgels, Parenterals, and Biologic solutions.
The Global Technical Marketing group is currently looking for a hands-on self-motivated professional like you with extensive experience in pharmaceutical formulation and process design for oral dosage forms.
Leveraging your education in Science,Pharmaceutics or an Engineering field combined with your relevant pharmaceutical experience in formulation and process developmentfor oral dosage forms, you will provide scientific expertise in trials forthe Immediate and Modified Release platform .
Demonstrating your experience with common analyticaltechniques such as: USP I/II dissolution, HPLC, DSC, TGA and yourpractical experience in material characterization techniques, you will generateknowledge on excipient – drug interactions and their impact on processperformance and long-term stability, respectively.
Using your extensive knowledge and practicalexperience in formulation design and drug product manufacturing, you willprepare formulations and generate data of oral dosage forms (tablets,capsules, oral films and melt tablets) via relevant manufacturingprocesses such as wet and dry granulation, blending, direct-compression, hot-meltextrusion, etc. Additionally, youwill use statistics to understand the data.
Your strong verbal and written communication skillswill be essential as you share results via technical reports, articles,posters, journal publications, and marketing communications.
Demonstrating your technical proficiency andscientific creativity in designing, planning and executing lab trials, youwill design, execute and manage laboratory experiments to developtechnical knowledge of drug-excipient functionality to support and growthe global excipients business.
Your strong technical knowledge paired with yourexcellent presentation skills will be a valued asset as you delivertraining to colleagues, customers and academic collaborators, and providetechnical support for tradeshows and external conferences (e.g. posters,oral presentations, workshops and customer meetings).
Your firm commitment to customer care will be evidentas you support customer technical projects and activities for key globalcustomers.
Successfully collaborating across the organization, youwill engage with regional scientists in North America, South America,Europe and Asia Pacific to align on projects that create value to thebusiness. You will also participatein global teams to conduct investigations, plan scale-up activities andshare technical content.
Your strong organizational skills and ability tomanage a multitude of technical projects with minimal supervision willserve you well as you manage day-to-day activities in the lab (e.g.ordering supplies, maintaining high safety standards, maintainingequipment and hardware, etc.). Thisincludes working with equipment vendors to coordinate maintenanceactivities of lab equipment, including troubleshooting and repair.
