Our mission in the Precious Metal Assay Lab is to meet stakeholders’ needs, providing innovative solutions, investing in our employees, capitalizing on opportunities and creating exceptional value in analytics. We accomplish this by providing high quality, reliable data and solutions. The Precious Metal Assay Lab is a high volume and fast paced group, providing accurate analysis in reasonable time.
We are seeking a professional like you to develop a high degree of proficiency in the fundamental aspects of classical wet chemical analysis. This will include testing solids, solutions and slurries to determine precious metal, rare earth and base metal content using a variety of classical wet chemical, gravimetric determinations, and/or instrumental techniques. You will also be responsible for the on-time execution of analytical requests in the area of wet chemical analysis, providing direct analytical support to BASF businesses.
Formula for Success
Leveragingyour educational background in Chemistry or a related scientific disciplinecombined with your work with classical wet chemical analysis and/or gravimetric methods, you will create wetchemical assays including peroxide fusion, tellurium collection, aciddigestions, dilutions, and gravimetric analysis.
Yourability to thrive within a high-pressure, demanding environment will be avalued asset as you perform samplepreparation procedures for wet chemical assays.
Adheringto ISO17025 guidelines, you will maintain quality control procedures to ensurethe accuracy and precision of reported data.
Your demonstrated experienceworking with concentrated acids (HF, HCl, NHO 3 ) will be avalued asset in this role.
Demonstrating your effectivewritten communication skills, you will report data through the LIMSsystem.
Yourcommitment to safety will be essential as you will be tasked withmaintaining safe work practices in accordance with BASF guidelines and attendingand participating in weekly safety discussions.
Utilizingyour strong technical skills, you will make instrumental determinationsincluding thermogravimetric analysis.
