Category Buyer - Cellasto (1804380) – Wyandotte, MI

Where the Chemistry Happens

The Category Buyer is a key buying position within the Cellasto organization. We are searching for a professional like you to be responsible for procurement of Cellasto attachment parts, tooling and process services. In this role, you will interface with all functions across the value chain including Sales & Engineering, Value Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your education in Business, Accounting, or Supply Chain and work experience in Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, Customer Care, etc. , you will analyze markets for relevant materials and services, including supply/demand relationships, competitive products and services, technology trends and advancements.

  • Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will develop and execute the regional strategy for purchased components including supply base alignment, development, and risk mitigation.

  • Successfully engaging outside the organization, you will maintain relationships with key suppliers, engaging their expertise for process and product improvement and innovation.

  • Demonstrating your strong business acumen, you will develop supply stream plans and strategies based on business plans and spending budgets.

  • Your robust analytical skills will be a valued asset as you track supplier performance and development to ensure competitiveness of strategies and achievement of quality standards.

  • Utilizing your previous experience in Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Planning, you will support stakeholders with purchase order fulfillment, resolving delivery and quality non-conformances, and various continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Your superior interpersonal skills will be valuable as you evaluate, negotiate and select best-in-class suppliers to assure best overall value for BASF Cellasto.

  • Your keen attention to detail and commitment to seeing tasks through to completion are critical, as you will ensure successful implementation of all agreements.
