OEM Development Specialist – Japanese Speaking – (2103750) – Wyandotte, MI

Where the Chemistry Happens

The OEM Development Specialist works with the OEM Sales Manager and OEM Account Managers to implement specific market growth strategies at domestic and trans-national OEMs that will result in new business growth for the Performance Materials business.

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and prioritize application innovations, coordinate technical development activities, as well as provide key input for OEM growth strategies that will lead to above average market growth for the Performance Materials (PM) transportation business.

Understanding of the Japanese language and culture is preferrerd.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your education in a technical discipline and your experience in marketing, sales, or new business development, you will contribute to Japanese OEM business growth strategies by providing key information for assigned OEM programs, as well as assist in strategy development with global colleagues to facilitate proliferation of application successes between regions.

  • Relying upon your experience in developing business and executing marketing and strategic plans, you will develop and maintain assigned Japanese OEM growth strategies for North America and create unique value propositions for implementing BASF innovation. You will also provide new business development support and define scope of new opportunities at each Japanese OEM relative to Performance Materials.

  • Demonstrating your strong leadership, and your ability to influence various functional groups to achieve OEM business growth objectives, you will support Japanese OEM Business Development team members, and provide leads and account direction for the sales team. You will also identify and assist in the development and closure of new business targets with Marketing, OEMs, and sales teams.

  • Your excellent organizational skills will be essential, as you monitor Japanese OEM trends relative for new legislative, technological, and organizational changes, as well as maintain technology roadmaps, organizational power maps, and new business target growth pipelines.

  • Your ability to analyze complex business systems and value chains from a variety of sources will serve you well, as you use conduct Japanese OEM analyses and prioritize growth opportunities, identify new market innovation opportunities, and present them to the New Market Development Team, as well as initiate innovation projects to secure growth and provide ongoing prioritization of opportunities.

  • Displaying your experience in transportation, engineering plastics, or polyurethane, you will develop and maintain transportation industry knowledge and communicate emerging trends, attend, and support exhibit duties at key transportation industry conferences, as well as develop and maintain key Transportation industry and OEM customer relationships.

  • Utilizing your excellent communication skills, you will provide support for internal communications, press releases, brochures, product/application profiles, and web content, identify and communicate OEM and market needs for new products, applications, and/or services as well as lead new product and/or application innovation launches.
