Maintenance Engineer II (1903975) – Wyandotte, MI
Where the Chemistry Happens
This is a tactical and strategic maintenance engineering focused position. You will be responsible to collaborate with Project Managers, Discipline Engineers, Operations and Maintenance personnel. You will provide services relating to design, repair, and preventative and predictive maintenance of plant and site assets. You will also evaluate new technologies. Your experience working with SAP CMMS software in creating, modifying, and managing preventive maintenance strategies will be key to your success in this role.
Formula for Success
Using your sound technical knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment, you will provide first line technical support to maintenance supervisors and crafts on equipment problems. Additionally, you will use this knowledge to provide Tier 1 troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units, including emergency work reviews.
Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as your ability to work in a team environment will serve you well as you participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems.
Demonstrating your keen attention to detail, you will develop and review BOMs for plant assets.
Utilizing a general understanding of industrial maintenance procedures including work planning, PM, and repair parts acquisition, you will review SOPs from a Maintenance perspective. You will also use this understanding to identify and implement best practices across the site.
Working successfully in a diverse environment, you will support the reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve Asset Effectiveness.
Your understanding of critical maintenance activities, i.e. static and rotating mechanical equipment repairs will be essential as you interpret codes, regulations, and standards and develop disciplined and systematic equipment Maintenance strategy and upkeep (ever-green) based upon business needs.
Your capability of making business decisions based upon situation analysis and resources available will be a valued asset as you provide input to the Maintenance budget. You will also use these skills to determine cost advantages of alternatives for developing action plans to comply with customer demands for the timely repair of equipment.
Focused on planning, you will establish, standardize, monitor, and optimize Preventative Maintenance Plans.
Your strong leadership ability will aid you in assisting in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources.
Leveraging your education in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and your experience in progressive maintenance and reliability engineering roles, you will support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of capital projects in accordance with plant design requirements as well as regulatory and BASF standards.
