Market Development Specialist (2102924)- Wyandotte, MI or Remote (within the US)

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a Market Development Specialist who will drive new business for the Infrastructure segment (e.g.: bridges and roads, energy, waterways, rail, transit, environmental remediation) in Performance Materials Construction to achieve strategic business growth. This position is to be held by an experienced (mid-career) hire, recognized for driving sustainable solutions in the construction industry.

Formula for Success

  • Using your relevant knowledge and understanding of the infrastructure construction industry and ability to communicate with construction professionals, read construction blueprints (plans), and work with stakeholders of different levels and abilities, you will represent PM Construction as the subject matter expert to the infrastructure construction value chain (owner, specifier, engineer, contactor, sub-contractor, etc). You will identify and develop relationships with construction value chain players, presenting value propositions that result in commercial sales, new product ideas, and market intelligence/feedback. You will also represent BASF at industry associations and events.

  • Demonstrating your entrepreneurial drive and experience to deliver sustainable solutions, you will develop new business opportunities in innovation areas by positioning BASF technology vs competitive solutions in the market: Rock Glue, Pultrusion, Polyurea, Slabjacking. You will help execute new product launches, including lead identification and development of customer-specific projects.

  • Working with a cross functional team of professionals and our gaining insight from our customers, you will work collaboratively and in coordination with PM territory sales, technical service, and operational functions to secure sales and to win as one team. You will identify new markets and create value added applications for existing BASF polyurethane technology in the infrastructure space.

  • With your keen view of the market including general trends impacting the construction business and competitive landscape dynamics, you will be responsible for identifying and addressing market trends for Infrastructure Construction that are influenced by the external forces of financial markets, general economic trends, and legislative, technological, environmental, and social changes that impact the segment.
