Our team is searching for a Project Manager to manage capital / expense projects across the Chemical Catalysts (CC) sites located in the Southeast US and/or the Midwest US, provide mentorship to other project engineers / managers, and manage site portfolios (as required). The CC business also has other sites in North America, which may need support as well. Travel is sporadic, but at times can be as much as 50% depending on the needs of the projects.
As a Project Manager, You Create Chemistry By...
Developing project scopes, generating, and obtaining cost estimates, and preparing appropriation funding requests. Additionally, you will ensure appropriate project safety reviews are completed as required, both before and after approval, and utilize applicable Value- Based Engineering practices (VBEs) to optimize project scope, schedule, and costs.
Developing, establishing, and maintaining partnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to execute projects from initial scoping and funding, through detailed engineering and procurement, to startup and commissioning, and final documentation and closure.
Following through to ensure that Operations achieves a successful project startup, and that any project-related action items are completed.
Requesting and coordinating required process and discipline engineering and designing resources, whether from the site, corporate groups or outside engineering vendors, to prepare engineering design deliverables and procure equipment, fabricated materials, and services.
Assisting in overall site capex planning, mentoring other engineers, and providing input into overall resource allocation for the group, also maintaining SAP project data entries, monitoring project progress through scheduling and other tools, performing project status reporting, and controlling spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments, as well as driving sustainable, innovative solutions to opportunities within the capital work process to further improve the services provided, further increasing the efficiency and predictability of capital projects.
If you...
Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical or Chemical Engineering) and professional engineering experience in a chemical / petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment (preferably in a Project role)
Possess 15+ years of relevant experience managing capital / expense projects.
Strong communication skills, Problem solving, Multi-tasking, and Decision-Making ability are a must.
SAP experience is preferred and PMP Certification is preferred.
Have solid attention to detail and organizational skills.
